Fitting instructions for Sako 75/85 picatinny Rails
Warrning
· Attention always ensure that firearm is unloaded
· Bolt is removed
· All normal safety precautions are followed
· This is an ultralow picatinny rail, which is designed to
be an interference fit
· Whilst doing this pay particular care not to damage either
the rail or the rifle with any tool used.
Step 1
Ensure bolt is removed from rifle
Step 2
Remove all screws from rail before fitting
Step 3
Slide rail onto dovetails from rear
Step 4
With a suitable tool (Soft faced hammer) tap the rear of the
rail onto the dovetail until the bottom for the rear face of the rail is as far
forward as the rear most edge of the rear dovetail.
Rember this rail is an interference/friction fit and
tolerances on the dovetails of the Sako rifle can be quite varied so some many
require more percussion effort than others.
Step 5
Fit the rear most (Large screw) which acts as a recoil lug
and ensure that it goes down all the way through, until it is visible from the
rear, under the rail and in contact with the rifle action below.
If you have pushed the rail too far onto the dovetail, you
may need to tap the rail gently rearward until the recoil screw can be fully
seated, as above.
Step 6
Remove recoil lug screw and treat all five grub screws with
the Vibra-tite provided and screw home with the allen keys provided long end
into the screw head, short end for turning i.e ? . This screws only need to be
nipped tight.
Step 7
Whilst ensuring rifle is unloaded and in a safe direction,
refit, and cycle bolt to ensure clearance of the back of the rifle.
Use
Due to the ultralow nature of this rail and the extraction
system on Sako rifles, it is advised to eject cases using a smooth fluid motion
when cycling the bolt.
If you have any doubts or concerns when attempting to fit
this rail please consult a qualified gunsmith.
